PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

Elements describe the essential outcomes of a unit of competency.

Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. Where bold italicised text is used, further information is detailed in the required skills and knowledge section and the range statement. Assessment of performance is to be consistent with the evidence guide.

1. Source and apply general information on structure of NSO and member associations.

1.1 Identify sources of information to understand the structure and operation of the NSO and member associations.

1.2 Access and comprehend NSO and member association roles and responsibilities.

1.3 Identify key contacts in NSO and/or member association relevant to own role in the sport.

2. Source and apply information on tennis development programs.

2.1 Obtain information about NSO sport-specific development programs.

2.2 Identify target group for each program.

2.3 Identify program eligibility and delivery requirements.

2.4 Determine most appropriate tennis development program for delivery in coaching or administrator role.

2.5 Identify a range of strategies to apply information sourced to role as a coach or administrator.

Assessment must ensure:

access to appropriate communication technology, to facilitate the processes involved in sourcing information

access to information sources in order to conduct research and collect sufficient information

access to NSO and member association sport specific development program information.

Method of assessment

A range of assessment methods should be used to assess the practical skills and knowledge required to develop and update tennis development program knowledge. The following examples are appropriate for this unit:

projects to research differing aspects of tennis development programs and delivery of the sourced information in a brief written or oral presentation

case studies and problem-solving exercises to assess application of knowledge to different situations and contexts

written and oral questioning or interview to test knowledge of NSO and member association structure and role and the key aspects of tennis development programs.

review of portfolios of evidence and third-party workplace reports of on-the-job performance by the individual.
